A Relationship Saved by Online Contests: My Bloggable Event for 2010

What would you do for love?  This year I had found love a new and with that love I grew as a person and explored new things.  My fiance and I had different perspective in life.  He is an advocate and I am a practical person and that is the common reason why we argue.  Sometimes I hate him and there are times that I thought our relationship would end but we always find the time to talk and settle it.  We argue about two things his view in life and financial matters.

This year, it is this argument which led me to discover about online contests. My first contest was the Canon Scanography in Facebook where I won a brand new Canon MP258. I never knew that there were too many contests online until I found new friends who are also into joining contests. It was very exciting and soon I have found Dave and I joining contests. Well, I did encourage him to join and he was really amazed because he says I am lucky when it comes to online contests. Little did he know that joining such contests is both a therapy and also a way to help our relationship.

For many joining contests is a way to get prizes and sell them but for me it is more like helping our relationship by finding new ways to spend time and also get items that we could both enjoy like movie tickets and food. I am not into it for the money but finding online contests a way to finally be at the same level of interest as he is.

This December I was even surprised because of our joint passion for contests and making it known to other people as well as in sharing our experiences with products and food. Our blog, The Products Blog was selected as one of the finalist for the 2010 Philippine Blog Awards Best Business Blog. It is one of the few things which we have worked together and successfully do it.

It might be funny but in 2010 I learned a lot of things incluing how to understand my fiance through indirect things. My experience on online contests seems to be an eye opener for our relationship. I experienced how to win and lose. I felt how to be happy and sad, to be bitter and appreciative and lots more. It seems to tell me to appreciate our relationship more because it is comparable to the experiences I felt.

I have to thank online contests and such experiences because now I am able to love him more and understand him greater. Now, I am thankful to Batang Yagit and Jehzeel Laurente because I am able to share my experience with others.

Why do I badly need the BLACKBERRY CURVE?

Here are my reasons:

1.  I'm selling mobile loads.  I can now easily access and sell loads to my client in a minute span of time without any hassle and lowbat status mode.

2.  I love to visit social networking sites and surfing the net.  I can now easily access the Facebook, Yahoo Messenger, my Gmail and others.

3. I love taking pictures so definitely I know that this BB curve has a great quality in pictures

4.  I love MP3.  I'm fond of downloading songs and surely I will put all my favorites songs in my BB curve :)

First year college pa lang ako noon, hindi pa uso masyado ang pagtatayo ng computer shop sa Baliwag, Bulacan.  Mabibilang mo lang sa mga daliri mo ang mga computer shop.  Sa hindi inaasahang pangyayari, sa tulong ng Panginoon, nakuha ng aking ina ang mga benepisyo galing sa aking yumaong ama.  Nagdesisyong kaming magkapatid na bumili ng isang unit ng computer, halagang Php 45,000.00 pa non.  Dahil sanay naman akong magcomputer, naisipan kong gawin itong negosyo.  Tumanggap ako ng typing jobs sa mga kaklase ko.  Hindi nagtagal, gumanda ang naging resulta ng pagsisikap ko.  Natutuhan ko rin kung pano mag layout lalo na ang paggawa ng wedding invitation. Nag boost ang aking business at nakilala ako dito sa amin.

RedFox Cool Desktops That Fits You

Red Fox with the cute fox logo symbolizes the strength and aggressiveness of their designs and specifications. Their laptops connotes quality and unparalleled support which can be said to be at par with other competitors. Also, their desktop provides the opportunity for everyone to own one regardless of your income and status.

I had the chance to look at Red Fox Desktops and if there are specifications that I always deem to be a must is that: (1) The graphics card should not be on-board meaning it should be a standalone card; and (2) The OS should be at least XP or Windows 7 and not Windows Vista.

Perhaps people would ask why but the reason is that an on-board card eats up your PC resources resulting in lower quality of graphics and computer hangups. As for the choice of Operating System, most of us knows why Windows Vista was immediately replaced by Windows 7. Windows Vista is a resource and memory hungry piece of OS.

For me I choose two desktops from Red Fox, one is the entry level and the other one is my dream desktop.

First let us talk about my recommended entry level RedFox Desktop PC. I would recommend the DESKPOD 8400. This unit will only cost you Php22,699.00 and it's not bad for an entry level desktop computer. I am also recommending Windows XP OS for an entry level computer since it does not eat much of the memory of both the computer and the graphics card.

The Red Fox DESKPOD 8400 comes with a Genuine Microsoft Windows XP Home. It runs on AMD Sempron 140 (2.7GHz, 1MB L2 Cache)/ Although I dislike onboard video cards, I am recommending this because the OS will compensate for it. This unit has Nvidia GeForce 6150 Graphics which is a good graphics card.

I do recommend however to add at least 1Gb or 2Gb memory for the Red Fox DESKPOD 8400 so that its performance will be better but it is not necessary or required since 1GB DDR2 800MHz memory is okey. For my dream RedFox desktop I choose Red Fox VENGEANCE EVO 502. This dekstop unit boosts a strong powered processor at 3.0Ghz with 6MB L3 Cache and runs on a Genuine WIndows 7 Home Basic. These tandem will surely make this desktop work superbly in any computer application.

That's not all for the Red Fox VENGEANCE EVO 502 is powered by ATI RADEO HD 4650 graphics card. ATI is by the way one of the best manufacturers of graphics card and they outshine others when it comes to crisp display and gameplay quality for high end games. The graphics card will also be getting a power boost from its 4GB (DDR3 1333 MHz) memory.

The coolest feature of this desktop is the fact that it is the first time that I would ever see and if possible own a hardisk which has 1TB or 1 Terrabyte capacity that is 1,000Gigabytes plus it is a SATA HD. Although I am recommending these two RedFox desktop PC units I am not saying that the other RedFox units are inferior. I am suggesting this based on my own experience when it comes to desktop computers.

My Super One, My Super Mom

Who is your Super One and why?

"We can replace almost everybody but not our parents." This is the saying which I always remember whenever I see my mother, The hardships and sacrifices she made for my two brothers and me are immeasurable. She did everything so that we can finish our studies. Whenever she has a problem she would try to resolve it so that we will not be burdened. For many years she had been a single mom to us and one that can be called a Super Mom. She is my Super One.

When my father died about fifteen years ago, my mother took his role and never complained. She would cook for us, send us to school, give us money to support our studies. She always smiled and at times scolded us for the wrong that we have done. Never have we seen her depressed nor lost her composure, she is always calm, smiles and always strong.

I know that I had not been a very good daughter to her. I had been at times naughty or "pasaway" in Filipino and sometimes refused to listen to her. Despite all of this I admire her and I always loved her every second of my life. I always show my love for her and hopes that she will understand me for those times that I am "pasaway."

My mom still does the laundry and she never bothers us though because of her age I know that she needs our help. I hope that I can find time to really help her in the chores so that she can have a time to relax and enjoy life. She had been so busy and so diligent all her life that she deserves to be happy and a reward from us.

No one can ever replace my mom. She will always be my Super One, my Super Mom.

I want DSLR for my birthday

Well, here is the second part of "The Bloggityboop Birthday Blog Contest".  

The step 2 is I need to answer the question What do you want to have for your birthday and why?


If i'm given a chance I want to have Nikon DSLR D60.

Why?  My hubby and I are really fond of taking pictures everywhere especially when we travel or eat something, we took pictures and post it in our blog.  Our main problem when we took picture is the quality itself.  We only used hubby's camera phone that has 1.3 megapixel.  If we were invited in an event like blogger's night or food trip we borrow digicam to our neighbor Mark.  Mark didn't hesitate to lend us the unit.  But somehow we knew that it is not appropriate to borrow the camera everytime.  Eventhough we can't purchase a brand new DSLR, we're planning to buy digicam in the near future.

I won in Generously Greedy Mini Contest!

Darling kong Aswang: Box Office Hit Movie

Yesterday, David, JD and me went to SM City Baliwag to watch another movie.  We watch Ang Darling Kong Aswang, entry to Metro Manila Film Festival and a new box office hit movie of Vic Sotto and Cristine Reyes.  Recently, the movie won 3rd Best Picture in MMFF Awards Night.

“Ang Darling Kong Aswang” tells the love story of a mortal Victor (Vic Sotto) and Eliza (Cristine Reyes), a reluctant “aswang” or a vampire who doesn’t want to feed on human blood.  Running away from the lair of “aswangs” to live a more normal life, she thought she would find new beginnings with Victor. Unfortunately her whereabouts were tracked putting her boyfriend and his family in danger.
